Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute (LRRI)

Capricorn Systems Incorporated has been awarded a Prime Contract to assist Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute (LRRI) with a Security Self Assessment for measuring the effectiveness of their information system security programs and plans in support of the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA). This Self Assessment will assist LRRI to:

Assure that systems and applications operate effectively and provide appropriate confidentiality, integrity, and availability

Protect information commensurate with the level of risk and magnitude of harm resulting from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, or modification

LRRI is a private biomedical research organization dedicated to improving public health through research on the prevention, treatment, and cure of respiratory disease. Equipped with a broad range of technical expertise and a wealth of research capabilities, LRRI studies respiratory health issues of concern to scientists and health care experts in universities, government, industry, and patient advocacy groups. LRRI is committed to curing respiratory diseases through research aimed at understanding their causes and biological mechanisms; assessing and eliminating exposures to respiratory health hazards; and developing improved therapeutics, vaccines, and diagnostics.

Capricorn will assist LRRI in reviewing and classifying their information systems based on FIPS 199 as well as NIST SP 800-53, SP 800-34, and SP 800-60 guidance and in accordance with OMB A-130. This will include analyzing and assigning appropriate classifications to systems based on a proven formula. In order to determine system classification, the criteria used to measure a system's sensitivity include confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Capricorn will assist the program business unit in determining the mission criticality of the system based on the rating score.

Information Assurance

Information Assurance is a critical requirement for all branches of the U.S. Military and Federal Agencies. Capricorn Systems Government Solutions has successfully competed and awarded five (5) prime contracts providing Certification and Accreditation services and support for Federal Agencies from 2009 - 2011. All projects were completed ahead of schedule and under budget.

MOWASP

Capricorn Systems Government Solutions, working as a partner to AT&T Government Solutions, Inc., was tasked to respond very quickly to a special project requirement involving MOWASP. A national recruiting effort resulted in our providing four very high-end DAWIA certified Senior Logistics Software Engineers. These professionals along with the AT&T team translated functional requirements into a logical breakdown of performance functions and translated them into the appropriate design characteristics which would collectively support the total Automated Information System (AIS). Our team also prepared the logistics supportability documents for submission to SYSCOM.

U.S. Marine Corps Center for Lessons Learned, Quantico, VA

Capricorn Systems Government Solutions provides ongoing Senior Systems Administration requiring deep knowledge and experience with Virtualization and SAN management to support the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the Lesson Management System (LMS) for the U.S. Marine Corps Center for Lessons Learned in Quantico, VA.

GSA Report Card

The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has issued Capricorn Systems, Inc. their GSA IT Schedule 70 report card. Capricorn Systems was given a rating of "Exceptional".

OPM, Macon, GA

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management regional office is located in Macon, GA. The Center for Talent Services, Technical Services Group provides design, development of human resource systems for customers within the Federal Government.
Capricorn Systems, Inc. was awarded a prime contract under GSA IT Schedule 70 to provide assistance for four tasks requiring Systems Security Certification & Accreditation services and support.

OGE, Washington, D.C.

The US Office of Government Ethics (OGE) is an independent agency within the executive branch which was established by the Ethics in Government Act of 1978. It consists of 80 full-time employee positions located in one centralized office in Washington, D.C. The mission of Information Resources Management Division (IRMD) at OGE is to provide the technology infrastructure necessary to support the agency's missions. This includes the planning, developing, testing, implementing, securing, and supporting of technology-based business solutions which enable their staff to meet the agency's strategic plans.
Capricorn Systems, Inc. was awarded the project to reverse engineer the Financial Disclosure Tracking System (FDTS). The FDTS is a Web application that was developed in ASP.NET using VB.NET on a Windows server in a Novell NetWare 6.5 and Groupwise 7.0 environment/platform.

Winn Army Community Hospital, Ft. Stewart, GA

Capricorn Systems, Inc. was selected to assist VT Milcom in providing Telecommunications Mechanic support for Wireless cabling per an approved SPAWAR/TIMPO design at the Winn Army Community Hospital located at Ft. Stewart, GA.
